To round the league season off in some style, Cublington defeated Winslow by 69 runs with a particularly solid all round performance. Batting first Cublington accumulated 276 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at a steady rate throughout the innings with five players contributing double figure scores topped by Sam Carter with 18 not out and Jack Rushmere with 14 not out.
In reply Winslow were restricted to 207 for 9 by tight bowling and equally good ground fielding that gave little away. Sam Carter captained intelligently and was backed up by his fielders and bowlers. In particular the keeper Jack Ash, who took a fast edge off the bowling of Rickard and Kit Gordon-Stuart who produced as fine a spell of leg spin bowling as you could ask to see, taking 3 for 4 including a wicket maiden. Cublington will face Wendover at Long Marston in the ADL U11 play off final, Thursday 19th July 6pm start.
Thanks to James Inglis for scoring, John Gordon-Stuart for the flags and Jean Lawson for preparing the food and drinks. It would be really great to see as many of you as possible at the final. Thanks for your support this season it has been much appreciated. I hope that the boys have enjoyed it as much as I have.
