Wendover narrowly defeated Cublington off the last ball of a dramatic game to run out winners and ADL U11 champions 2007. A game of the highest quality, played in the right spirit graced the final with both teams putting in excellent performances in the field in front of a significant crowd at Long Marston.
Wendover compiled a steady 242 batting first, James Bowers high scoring with 18 not out. Cublington produced two direct hit run outs, a great catch behind by the keeper and high quality ground fielding that successfully kept the scoring down with their best performance of the season.
In reply Cublington set off strongly with contributions of 16, 14 and 11 from Sam Carter, Jack Ash and Jack Rushmere respectively but appeared to be well behind the run rate with 12 overs gone. A remarkable rally from Alex Inglis and George Lovatt put CCC back in the game and with two balls remaining they were 8 runs in front. To his great credit Ollie Hogg nervelessly bowled the last two balls straight and true to take two wickets in two balls giving Wendover an unlikely victory but one that was richly deserved.
